Tom Yum Koong

Another one of my favourite Thai food is Tom Yum Koog. It is a spicy food that we can eat with some rice. It is a popular food for foreigners. I never try to cook Tom Yum Koong but when I go to Thai restaurant I always order Tom Yum Koong. Most thai people like to eat with fired egg and some rice.

Under Thai Cooking 2011

“Koong” in Thai language is mean “prawns” and this is a main ingredient, but some people don’t like to eat prawns. They can also have another meats such as chicken, pork and fish. For me I like to eat it with pork because I don’t like to eat prawns.

Some people can’t eat lots of spicy so we have two words for order mild Tom Yum Koong that is called “Tom Yum Koong num sai” .This means not too much chilli. However, we have another name to call for very hot Tom Yum Koong. It is “Tom Yum Koong num kon” and if you like to eat hot food you should try this one!
